For Lunar New Year 2024, we celebrated the Year of the Dragon on MyVMK. I collaborated with a fellow team member on a special Lunar New Year Event called, “Luck of the Dragon.” I designed all the event prizes and the Lunar New Year coin exchange room. I also conceptualized and created all three Lunar New Year exchange coins.

LUNAR NEW YEAR COIN EXCHANGE SHOP

Throughout the month of February, Host events and special events awarded participants Lunar New Year coins. Guests had the opportunity to save up coins all month long, to be exchanged in a special Lunar New Year Coin Exchange Shop. There were three different coins, with three different values. Jake Long the American Dragon was featured on the one coin, Mushu was featured on the five coin, and Sisu was featured on the ten coin.

Featured here is the Lunar New Year Coin Exchange Shop I designed and built. It was inspired by the Canadian city from Pixar’s.”Turning Red.” This room was built utilizing furniture created by my fellow Graphic Artists and myself.

Mid February, guest were eager and excited to find out what all those Lunar New Year coins were being saved up for. I created this preview teaser of the Lunar New Year Dragon Wings, while I worked on the rest of the prizes.

Featured here is the full list of Lunar New Year shop prizes, along with their prices. I designed this info graphic, which was shared on the official MyVMK Discord and Forums for the guests to reference. The LNY Year of the Dragon Pin was designed by a guest.

Lunar New Year brings luck, happiness, and prosperity. I designed these items to reward the players for their time and love for MyVMK throughout the years. The items were designed in various price tiers, to ensure anyone who participated, little or big, could afford to purchase at least one item from the shop.

The Lunar New Year Gift Shop featured a wide array of items, including pins, clothing, accessories, and furniture. I designed a wide array of items to ensure there was something for everyone.
