Illustrations at a glance

Switching from traditional mediums such as painting and printmaking, to digital illustration, I began my digital illustration career in 2015. Painting and printmaking have permanently left their mark on my work, I draw inspiration from misaligned patterns and outlines. I frequently use patterns and symbols in my digital works, offering recognizable themes and notions while allowing the viewer to interpret each piece based on their own personal experiences. As of late, I have been inspired by mixing 2D and 3D elements together, creating compositions that don’t quite exist in a solely 3D or 2D space.

Experimenting with 2D and 3d illustration

The illustration below were designed in 2024 as three, 500x500 compositions. They were conceptualized as stand alone graphics put together into one solo scene. The illustrations were inspired by my love for Asian foods and my love for animals. I enjoyed the process of mixing 2D and 3D elements together, while maintaining a playful and eye catching composition.

2022 was a year I experimented with storytelling in illustration. I kept a consistent style within my illustrations, which included inspiration from my printmaking roots. I utilized repetition of patterns, shapes, and symbols to represent simple and abstract ideas. I relied heavily on pattern, line, and color to illustrate each concept. I was also inspired by portraiture, only illustrating lines that were intentional and communicative, with a mix of thoughtful patterns.
